Events

1km Round the Island  (age 12yrs+)

  • Registration on-line at Oceanswims, manual entry form or on the day between 8:30-9:30 (extra charges apply)
  • All competitors will need to check in at the 1km age group desk by 9:30am to pick up caps and timing tags
  • 1km starts at 10:00am

5km Around the Bay (age 15yrs+)

  • A new event with a limit of 200 swimmers, 5km swim starts at 7am
  • All competitors have to pre-register online at Oceanswims
  • Competitors and will need to have checked in at the 5km desk 30 minutes before the start to pick up caps and timing tags.
  • Competitors will need to be able to complete the distance in 2 hours as after this they will be asked to stop
  • Any 5km competitor that also wants to swim the 1km will need to register for the 1km after completing the 5km, we will waive your 1km entry fee if you do decide to swim the 1km.

Other Events

  • 200m Junior swim (age under 12yrs) : Starts at 9:45am, registration on-line at Oceanswims or on the day before 9am
  • Anita Comelli 200m Dash for Glory:  All competitors must have entered and swum the main 1km Swim for Cancer.  Registration on the day only. For safety, entry numbers will be limited. therefore competitors should register early at the registration table on the morning of the swim.
  • HMAS Penguin Shield relay: Team of 4, open to all ages. Can be four friends, or from Sporting Clubs, Community Organisations, Swim Clubs etc. Starts after 1km swim, registration on-line at Oceanswims or on the day.    
  • Schools relay: Start 8:30am (see Schools Relay for more information)
  • Alexander Patrick Hall Trophy (see Win Prizes for more information)
  • Corporate Challenge (see Corporate Teams for more information)

 

Where to Go

  • Registration desk will be located near the Rotunda at Balmoral Beach ( near cnr The Esplanade & Mandalong Rd)
  • Toilets are located at Bathers Pavilion, Balmoral baths or Tramshed
